Great Gravy!
Every Saturday on Ann Street in Stroudsburg, there is a farmer’s market where you can buy anything from fresh produce to scented candles. A few months ago, my wife and I smelled a delicious scent of tomato sauce. We followed our noses to the source. A gentleman was selling a home-made marinara called “Truly Italian” and had a pot of sauce simmering away, along with fresh bread to sample the sauce.

“Truly Italian George Jasko”
Other products were also on display, but we just tried a jar of the marinara. Can you you say great tasting? The sauce has a bit of a peppery kick to it, but not so much that it overwhelms you. For those of you who like a hotter type sauce, “Truly Italian George” has a extra hot marinara sauce just for you!

The entire product line.
We have used it on ziti and angel hair pasta. It is absolutely yummy.
The label contains a story behind the sauce – and I quote -
The original recipe for this unique sauce, or fondly known as gravy, dates back many years ago in the city of Salerno, Italy.
My father acquired the recipe from a fellow soldier during World War II. The soldier made the sauce over pasta on weekends. My father dearly loved the sauce and would constantly ask for the family’s recipe.
One night, in a dice game, the other soldier lost to my father. This time my father made him pay the price – the recipe.
The sauce has been enjoyed by our family and friends ever since.
Now, you too can enjoy this delicious sauce.
